Theoretical & Normative Research
An important part of the TCRG’s work involves theoretical
and normative research. A strong grounding and appreciation of
theory can prove useful in providing deeper or alternative perspectives
on areas of contemporary interest in the community and in practice,
and therefore should be encouraged rather than perceived as a secondary
concern with no tangible benefit.
Areas of theoretical and normative work that members of the TCRG
are presently researching, for the purpose of preparing papers, research
monographs and texts, include:
- Law and Norms;
- Behavioural Law and Economics (including the
importance of the concepts of trust and trustworthiness, and
the implications of
research into ‘other-regarding preferences’);
- Scientific
Studies into Human Happiness and Implications for Corporate
Law and Governance;
- Team Production Theory;
- Efficient Capital Markets Hypothesis;
- Capital Lock-In and Director
Primacy Theories;
- Law and Economics Applied to Corporate Control
Transactions and Executive Compensation Issues.
If you have an interest in any of the above areas, or other theoretical
and normative issues, and would be interested in presenting a paper,
contributing a book chapter, or writing a research monograph on your
area(s) of interest, please contact
us.
We will immediately discuss possibilities with you.
