Welcome
The Corporate Research Group (TCRG) is a private
research and policy think-tank, specialising in domestic, international
and comparative corporate law and governance. Having recently
been formed, the aim of TCRG is to attract high calibre and eager
members
to engage in cutting-edge research on a range of issues concerning
the regulation and activity of corporations and corporate participants.
Our
immediate objective is to build a reputation for excellence in terms
of empirical, theoretical and policy
and reform-orientated research throughout the
world. We are endeavouring to establish a critical mass of members with
research and practical experience in a wide range of areas of
corporate law and governance in order
to build networks, raise the profile of TCRG, and to assist
academic members to attract competitive research grants.
Our activities involve:
- Preparing research reports on important issues and emerging
themes in corporate law and governance;
- Engaging with the media,
law-makers and law reform bodies, and corporate stakeholders
in relation to contentious issues and law reform
proposals;
- Providing a forum for academic members to pool their collective
resources and knowledge with a view to organising and undertaking
research
projects and to attract competitive research grants;
- Organising regular
seminars and conferences on current areas of interest and concern
in relation to corporate law and governance. We aim
to provide a balance of practice-oriented and theory-oriented seminars
and conferences.
- Assisting and encouraging members to
engage in research and prepare papers and monographs (either
individually or as part
of a group) with a view to publishing the work through a TCRG-
associated law journal (currently The
Corporate Governance Law Review).
The Principal of The Corporate Research Group is John Bingham.
